Event Calendar Working

I have had Google Calendar embedded as my event calendar for some time, but I have finally figured out why the “Upcoming Events” tools were not working. Now you can easily see the next several events in the sidebar and on the events page.

New Teaching Website!

Hello everyone!

It sure has been a while since I have updated this site. There are a number of reasons for that, but one of the main is that I have been working on a new teaching website, “The Brass Coach”! You can visit it at

I am really excited about The Brass Coach! With only one website I was having a hard time giving enough design attention to both my professional performing career and to my teaching studio. By having two sites I will be able to focus each one much more effectively on its main purpose instead of trying to cram two related – but different – goals into the purvue of a single website. JacobsTrombone will work more towards promoting myself as a performing artist, while The Brass Coach will act as the gateway for my teaching studio and ensemble coaching endeavors.

There is still plenty of work to be done, but I see a lot of potential in this new arrangement. Please head on over to The Brass Coach and let me know what you think!

New Featured Video, Video Page Renovation

Check out the new Featured YouTube Video, with Ian Bousfield offering a fantastic performance of Martin’s Ballade.

When you click on the link, you will find a renovated Featured YouTube Videos page that has the latest video embedded and offers some organization to the older videos for easier browsing.

Back in Action!

I have finally received the new power cord for my laptop! I will be updating the site as I can while sifting through a couple weeks worth of e-mails. Thanks for your patience, everyone.

Explanation for Slow Posts

Not that I have ever had a really frequent update schedule, but I wanted to let everyone know why I have been especially absent lately. A power-cord-eating blackhole opened somewhere between the move to Orem and the Thanksgiving holiday travel that utterly devoured both my phone charger and my laptop power cord. As such, my computer has been sitting on my desk with a dead battery for the last couple of weeks. The phone charger I ordered came in a couple days ago, but the computer cord still has not made it. Hopefully it will come soon. Until it does, I will continue to have very sporadic access to the internet, including e-mail.
